I am 5'10", 195 pounds, 34" waist with an athletic build. The fit is perfect for me and they have enough stretch to fit well through my hips and thighs. The material is thin enough that I expect to be able to wear the in warmer weather, but robust enough that I won't worry about briars and other trail hazards when orienteering or during other outdoor adventures.I have the Guide Pro shorts and the Insulated Guide Pro pants. Both fit great and are very comfortable. I've had the shorts for a couple of years and they are holding up well. I expect the same from these and the insulated pants.I didn't know the difference between the standard and Rainier version of the pants. Several reviewers complained about the prominent "A" logo on the standard version. The Rainier do not have the logo. Since I wanted the option to wear them in town as well as in the woods, I wanted to avoid the logo. The look is mostly as-expected and I'm happy with them. The only surprise is that the thigh pocket is sewn onto the outside of the pant leg. In my shorts and lined Guide Pro pants the pocket is more hidden, which provides a better look in my opinion. So the perfect pant would be the standard Guide Pro pants without the logo, or the Rainier version with the thigh pocket inside the leg of the pant. I'm still pleased with the pant and will continue to purchase the Eddie Bauer brand in the future.
